Wife Just Got Her CC Permit
My wife has taken the CC class for the third time, but never followed through to get her permit, this time she did. What would be a decent caliber in a revolver for her with low recoil? She doesn't care for semi-autos.

Trapper7,
I think we need a little more information. Has your wife ever fired a handgun? What does she prefer? I begin novice shooters in my handgun classes with a .38 Special DA revolver with light wadcutter loads. I like the DA revolver because most new shooters master it quickly. Adam

She has shot plenty with her 22 rimfire Taurus handgun, but nothing larger. She does shoot a 6MM Remington for deer hunting and seems OK with the recoil. I'm thinking something with low recoil though.
I have a carry handgun a S&W model 637. I was thinking of maybe having her shoot it a few times to see what she thinks and get her one. |

Trapper,
The 637 is a nice DA .38 Special. Start her with light wadcutters and work up to standard velocity 158 grain SWC loads. Put up a silhouette target at 7 yards and have her work on personal protection. Adam
