ditto to jonesy again,

we've aleady got boxes or shrinkwrap, ortwine/rope to cut at work, but even If we didnt i'd still carry one, simply becasue i have done so for so long.

like billy said, i'd probably leave my wallet someplace before i left my knife by mistake.

a tool not a weapon
I know people who would argue strongly with that.

true, but then again, not only tools, but almost any object can be used as a weapon, whether that is it intended purpose or not.

Yes Sir, very true.

But like you said some knives are designed as weapons. Just as many are not.
Still a weapon is basically a tool, so it is rather a moot point.

I got one years and years ago that now has the sides gone. I got it with a pack of smokes back then. Only one blade, one cork screw and a combination bottle opener/ screw driver. This thing is now called McGiver. Everyone around here knows about it because it has fixed everything from big rig trucks to microwave ovens fancy screws to guns and all the fixins that a man can get himself into anywhere. I even have friends that want it willed to them one day. lol..I wouldn't leave home without it....makes me feel naked and I have looked for one just like it everywhere but nothing...one of a kind I guess.

i carry one to use at work. i also sell knives at work, so it would be odd if i didnt. in truth i always carry at least 2 knives. one for utility work, and one for self defense. Since i am not 21 i cant carry a pistol. and in truth i am quite interested in knives so i love to play w/ them, and have bought 30 or so in the last year.
I tend to stick to one brand... Spyderco, because they use high quality materials and keep the cost to an affordable price, and have great customer service. At the moment i have a spyderco scorpius SE in my right front pocket, and a spyderco navigator in my watch pocket.

Why carry a knife

Out of Habit, here in West Virginia if you don't carry a knife, you forgot to put your pants on! Seriously, keep a sharp knife, a dull knife is no knife at all !

Here is the pocket knife I carry and even just used it as a P-38 yesterday. This thing does it all and I can't find one just like it. Only a blade, cork screw and bottle opener/ screw driver. I have been to knife shops, knife sales etc but to no avail. Anyone here have one like it you want to part with? This has the side covers worn off but that only makes it thinner for the pocket.
