Like I said,, you are out of line
It just seems senseless to me to continue arguing with you over a very involved situation which I am completely uninvolved in and really could care less about! I do however take credit for making a comical poke at you about the retrieve, I thought I made it pretty obvious that is was in fun. Anyway we all knew you and your dog were ok. Funny thing is I never called you any names or really got into making fun of the "City Boy" as you said yet here you are preaching to me about my behavior on the board, while you call my brother an idiot, this is too funny! And you were the one that warned me about the "rules of conduct" on here huh,,, hilarious.
You know sometimes things that seem so terrible initially, later turn out to be some of the funniest most remembered hunting stories. I hope one day you can see the comedy of it all, but apparantly this is still too touchy of a subject for you to be able to laugh about. one more thing: Quote:

I'll not continue to argue about this either. Yeah, a year later it is somewhat of a funny story, but the very next day, not really, and to add insult to injury it was one of the few times I was able to get out and hunt with my dad that year. About the only thing I find funny about it now is that Murphy's law struck because I left my waders at home thinking I would not need to get in the water. I still see Nitro's face turning from one of calm to one of panic. I still see his front claws raised up trying to get purchase on the ice. Even today there isn't much funny about it, but at least I can tell the story without having to hug my dog.
Maybe if you were to tell the story or try to joke with me about it today I might not be as bent out of shape, but the day after, and without even asking if my dog or I was okay. Just because I survived you would assume that I was "okay?" And of course you have to get your last dig in with "they yell "TAKE EM" over and over and over" Remember, I was there for the good and the bad days, and I continue to have those days without those guys. There were days where we didn't yell take em at all, and there were days where we got our limits within 30 minutes. Can you believe that I still have good and bad days hunting, even with other people or by myself. With that said, I want to be sure to say that I don't have a problem with the entire group, just your posts on here about the incident and the way I was treated by the "guilty" party. I am completely fine with the rest of the group, but it is rather tough to remain friends with them while not being friends with the "guilty" party. At the end of the day, I envision you and the "guilty" party sitting down at the computer, drafting up those posts, and having a good chuckle over it. Besides, I was only calling your brother an idiot to get a rise out of you. LOL The shoe is on the other foot again now isn't it, because that is what you told me when you pissed half this board off at you a couple of years ago. I can spin this a bunch of ways so that it fits your previous behaviour. A taste of one's medicine is sometimes good for them. If the incident had been something stupid like me shooting the side of my truck or my truck sliding into the pond, we could laugh all day about it, but it was my dog. I know some people view dogs as just animals, but most of the time I think my dog is better than a lot of people out there and a lot more loyal. I believe there is a saying out there that you can make fun of a guy all day long, but just don't make fun of his dog. Again, if only everybody had a conscience, they might stop to think about what they are going to say/type before they actually do it. Of course, calling a friend to see how he is doing would also involve compassion, so maybe I should be saying that it would be nice if people were a little bit more compassionate in this world. Oh yeah, I still find it rather hilarious that your brother hung those antlers on the tree and expected to find them later. With all the complaining you have been doing about poachers, don't you think there are a couple dishonest people out there, in your neck of the woods. Seems as though they are always there at night, so why not during the day time. Crime doesn't only happen at night. Granted, everybody should be able to leave something outside and it should be left alone, but way too many people believe in finders keepers, and they do not stop to think that what they found actually belonged to somebody else.

Guys,
Sounds like there are some issues to work out, or maybe not, but this thread is going no where fast. Can we all agree to end it? ![]() Some things are better left for PM's and email than on the board for all to witness. |
