feathers or vanes
First of all, thanks to all who responded to my post on arrows. I think I'm going to stick to aluminum. That is what I know.
Now, my question, vanes or feathers? I know feathers get crappy in wet weather and I want to go with vanes, but will they fly good? Anybody remember dynavanes/? I think they were the ones with slits in them to prevent crosswind drag. Sorry, remembering out loud. thanks in advance

if you are shooting off the shelf then you should use feathers. i use feathers out of my recurves and compound. i preffer them you can put different products on the feathers to make them hold up better in the rain. with feathers you can use fletching tape which i really like. vanes will fly just fine if off an arrow rest....and i have had carbons with vanes fly without an problem out of my widow off the shelf.

feathers ...
i remember dyna vanes ... i used to shoot them ... but it's been many, many years since i shot a vane ... i shoot feathers even from my cam & 1/2 hoyt havoctec ... hoyt zr200 and hoyt accutec ... feathers can be waterproofed ... dri-fly, hair spray etc ... more expensive and less durable in many cases than vanes but much ezier to tune with and much more forgiving ... (not to mention much less weight on the rear of the shaft ...)

feathers or vanes
I agree with AK Nimrod, if you shoot off the shelf, stick with feathers. There's water proof dust that adds no weight to feathers, but keeps them water proof. Feather Fletch, I thinks the name.
