Goosin AGAIN
Went out a goosin again yesterday. Rain was horizontal ahd heavy. But the geese did fly. 5 of us in the blind. The farmer that owns the place a frien of his and a first timer of about 25 yrs...and my 10 yr old grandson. First toll was down low and 35 ft when I called the shot First timer said holy cow just before he shot4 birds in the toll 4 stayed DRT. Each one of those guys got a bird. Love it. 4 shots 4 birds. Next group was 3 birds...one swung wide and the other 2 stayed. Grandson and the first timer each got a bird. next was 2 birds and I got mine...the next was a single. Grandson missed but the farmer got him. ..the last was a single coming from the pond at an altitude of no more than 10 ft. flew directly by the end of the pit..doing about 90 in the wind. Just wasn't fast enough. That shot caught up to him at about 20 yds and we were done. Just one little oddity in the group though. One of the geese we shot was a Specklebelly goose. Only the 3 rd I've ever heard about being bagged around here. Oh and Fabs...we did have a lady shoot one of those green banded birds here on the farm a few days ago...100 buck bird...ain't it neat??
