Just Curious

I am sure most of the board is familiar with Pat Robertson...what are your thoughts of him?

My read is that is a sincere, not-very-bright person, with a good presentation style.

Val, personally I like to see what I'm buying. I don't much care for these TV evangelist. I will say that if I was going to pick one it would be him, in fact my wife subscribed to him for a few years. I didn't make her quit and I don't thank she got cheated.

I dont know who he is, but if he is a TV Evangelist, Im pretty sure I dont care for him.

My grandmother sent loads of cash to one when I was a kid. Cash she didnt have. Thinking it would make her life better. Well, unless something happened after she died, it didnt. She died sick and broke, living from SSI to SSI. And still sent this preacher with a Rolls money.

I find them leaches on society. No better than some of the other scam artists. Taking money away from people that cant afford it, leaving them thinking that sending the money will somehow make their lives better.

I believe in god and believe in church and worship. Not on the boob tube though......

Just my .02

Are all preachers con-artists, or just the ones on TV?

Does being on TV make them con-artists, or does being a con-artist cause them to get on TV?

The other night I walked out of the bedroom and noticed my guy was watching Jimmy Swaggert....not a usual occurrance around here....I remember his little escapade with the street walker,,,,,and never have given him much thought......my comment to my guy was "what are you doing watching Jimmy?" my guy said matter of factly ....like it was the most natural thing in the world.....he is a prophet of God and sometimes it doesnt hurt to listen......I am still walkin around in a daze by that remark....I have yet to bring it up to him...maybe tonight...

There is so many ways that the word Prophet doesn't fit Swaggert, that I'm not sure I would use it. Maybe the word ' Profit'. I do agree with your guy about his feeling of needing to listen once in a while though. Anyway all the best.
