Depends when it will be. I know Rubicon is planning a hunt down there, but I definitely cannot go until after the wedding in July. Heck, probably won't be able to go until after December. My dad and I are both thinking about it and my dad keeps pestering me about it. However, remember that South Dakota pheasant hunt you and I were supposed to go on? My dad was bugging me about that too until it came down to time to go. Then it was too cold, he was too busy, etc.

With all that said, let me know what the details are. I would like to go and take my dad as a treat for helping me with the work on the townhouse. Just finished up the kitchen completely today (e.g., cut a pantry cabinet down from 24" wide to 20" wide to fit the larger fridge, centered another cabinet over the fridge and installed filler wood between the cabinets, installed the toe kicks on all the cabinets and the base moulding around the pantry). Also finished up a bathroom. So, the kitchen and all the bathrooms in the house are 100% done. Finally. Also put some furniture together for my office and hopefully that room will be finished in the next day or two.

KT,

I already own a Beretta 391 20 ga. youth model. Hoping that a kid of mine will eventually be using it, but for right now the fiance and my sisters use it when we go clay shooting.

I watched the shoot on the Outdoor channel and it was unreal.
There were birds all over the place and I think you better plan on more then 500 shells for sure.

The friends of mine that have gone to Agentina and Mexico for these shoots say that it is somewhere between 800 and 1,000 shells a day. Quite honestly, I will have to make sure that I am in great physical shape before going. I have NEVER, EVER, shot that many shells in a day.

When are you thinking of doing this skeet?

When I get this other piece of land sold, I would be interested in going.

How would a guy or gal get in shape for shooting like that ? Guess you would have some monster dude hit you in the shoulder 100 times a day or I could target shoot with my 7mm mag. I guess lol.

It's not so much getting slammed in the shoulder a 1,000 times, but lifting the gun up 400 to 500 times. I would imagine that mounting the gun would get a little tough after a while.

Shootin

I have had a few friends go on these trips and they all told me that the 2nd day is the worst..Your arms are tired..but that you quickly get over it. I actually mount a gun 100 times a day 3 days a week when it's time to do some shootin anyway. I've shot a 1000 shells a day on pigeons and can tell you it is a little tiring..but not anywhere near as bad as y'all think. Heck 500 heavy duck loads a day at sea ducks used to be normal..years ago...with a pump gun at that. Dem ol M-12's are sweet. Hey DD any time is fine with me. I'd like to get a chance for one day at ducks too. I was supposed to go to Bolivia with a veterinarian friend last year but the accident and loss of eye sight kind of messed me up.. He shot 4100 shells in 3 days...holy cow..that would be hard to take. he goes 2 times a year...but being a vet he can afford it. Remember seasons are reversed there so August may be a good time. June would be better.

I just have that itch to shoot something. a lot of times too.

These old timers that I know go down there a lot. It's not lifting the gun....it's not the pounding.....it's wearing the skin completely off of your thumb from hitting the bolt release on the receiver! For Real!

They shoot 20 ga. Beretta Urikas and they bring extra bolt release parts with them because they wear them out sometimes.

BTW, between 4 or 5 guys I think, their ammo bill was over $11,000 U.S.! He showed me the log they filled out.
