Browning Bar II 25-06 Where to start!
Years ago I loaded for my Remington 700 BDL in 25-06, I sold my guns when my children came along, buying groceries became the number one priority. Now I'm pulling my reloading equipment out of mothballs and would like to load for my Browning Bar 25-06. I would like to work up two primary loads - one load for deer and a second load for yotes. Would appreciate advise as to load combinations (bullet, power, etc.) that have worked for you that load for 25-06 and especially any that may load for the Browning Bar.

Depending on how "tight" your old dies are, you might have to go to a Small Base Die for the BAR. Browning chambers are noted for being tight (it adds to accuracy) but sometimes a regular sizer won't bring fired cases down enough to chamber in a BAR or BLT. That's especially true if they were fired in another gun.
I'd be looking at one of two bullets for 'yotes: either the Hornady 75 VMax or the Nosler 85 Ballistic Tip. Neither one will leave much fur, though. Load these to 3400 or so - under max. For deer, the Nosler 115 Ballistic Tip is the best for the 25-06, although any standard 120 softpoint will work almost as well as a bullet is supposed to. Any accurate load that drives them 3000 to 3200 will do fine.
