Thumbs up Steverino Goes Primetime!

Well, kinda-sorta-

Got a call from Bill Earl at Lamont Outdoors in Southeastern Illinois-a new outfitter featured here on HC, that I have a Fall bowhunt trip booked with in November.

Bill's a class act-has already been in contact with me a few times this year providing scouting information, weather condition updates (drought conditions pretty bad here in Illinois) as well as information on the local herd, mast crops and food plot info.

Anyhow, asked if I'd mind having my hunt filmed for an outdoor spot. I got so darned excited talking with Bill about the bucks that I forgot to ask him who is doing the film shoot. He mentioned that some fellas don't want to be bothered with a guy trailing them with a camera, etc.

The way I figured it, I'd probably be taken to some of the better spots and have an edge on opportunity seeing as how the outfitter would want to place themselves in a good light for marketing purposes Sounds like a good Win-Win situation to me! I told Bill sure! Why not?

Then I got to thinking...boy, if I booger-up a close shot, why I'll never hear the end of it from my friends and family. So far I have a perfect one-shot, one kill track record on all my game through the years but I know the odds build whereupon that will most likely change someday. Hopefully, this November will not be THAT day.

Oh the pressure!!!!

Man I'd better get my butt in high gear with the tuning and practice.

If I'm not mistaken LoneWolf, I believe that Petey was talking about scheduling a hunt at Lamont around this same time period himself.

Yup Bill is a class act to say the least!! I have a group of guys from the In-Scents.com team heading down to Lamonts this yr for another repeat too. Their group will be filming for the Outdoor Moments TV show on the Outdoor Channel.

Hope you like a little kidding around, b/c Bill is a hoot! If you check out their photo gallery for turkey, you can see the results of the Huntchat Pro-Staff's hunt with them this past April.

He'll probably get me back on this one, but I took this snapshot when he wasn't ready!! Only a face a mother could love! Ha ha, naw I'm super happy you're out their supporting one of HC sponsors, and don't forget to say hello to Bill, Mark Lamont, and Ken Lamont for me!

The HC ProStaf will be heading to Montana on a double Mule Deer/Elk combo with Wild Skies Outfitters this early Novemeber.

Oh yeah, Good luck! I'm sure you'll have one heck of a hunt. Believe it or not, I actually saw a scrape in in April down there. Not too sure what that was all about? The deer are huge, and the trails are like horse paths. I'm sure you won't be disappointed and from the sounds of it, the new lodge is ready. Unfortunately I didn't get to see it while I was down there this spring or I would post you some pictures.

I have all kinds of video and pictures of the terian if you want to see it (mostly the Wabash property)
