Hi Viz Spark II shotgun bead?

Hello all, I just bought a Hi-Viz Spark II shotgun bead for my Remington 11-87 Light Contour.
The problem is that the Hi Viz bead is already threaded with a post from the factory and came with additional threads for different sizes. I can't figure how to get the factory thread off to put in the proper replacement thread that it came with it? The posts are threaded on both ends that fit into the sight iteself and then to the thread on the shotgun.
I was going to use pliers to grip the post and try to remove the factory installed threaded screw but didn't want to damage it. Any one have any experience doing these? I know it shouldn't be this difficult. Any other sights you would recommend?
Worst case scenario I will have to find a different bead for my shotgun or order through rem a new bradley bead. Thanks. Esox357

Sight replacement

If the Remington has a Bradley sight just grip the side flats with a safe pair of pliers and give it a half turn counterclockwise..from that point on it should be a finger removal. Now..unless Remington has gotten into a regular 6X48 thread, i hope the replacement sight has an adapter for their thread(some bastardized 48 thread). If not you can cut the remington with a 6 X48 tap...it is just a little larger than the regular Remington.. then you thread the new sight into place. If it doesn't end up straight you will have to(carefully) file the bottem of the threaded portion of the new sight and try again until it ends up straight.. Use a little locktite and tighten it in.. Check threads before you do anything. They may have changed them on the guns.

Personally I wouldn't change the darn thing. If you see the front sight when shooting at a bird or whatever...you ain't lookin at what ya should be...The target. If your face is on the gun...You'll be looking down the bbl...Just look at the target These new sights are really neat...they make your eye go right to the end of the gun....Duuuuuh! At least mine does that.

I have no experience with that particular sight, but..... the 'standard' thread size for shotgun beads is 3-56.
Don't think there is anything that mandates that, but 3-56 is very commonly used for beads on shotguns.

The Hi-Viz sights I installed on 5 of my shotguns all came with several screws to use to install them with. Obviously, the 4 Berettas used the same screws, but the Benelli SBE used a different screw.

I have no idea about the specific sight you are installing, but if you can get the Remington bead off, I am pretty sure that the Hi-Viz package will have the appropriate screw replacement in it.

It did come with 5 different sets of screws but there is already a screw in the sight that Hi Viz installed and I cannot remove it to change it with the proper screw? I already have removed the Bradly sight from the Rem. Thanks Esox357

Is the screw stuck or is the plastic site obscuring it?

I cannot remember what mine looked like when I installed them and all the guns are at my parents right now. Can you post a pic.

If memory serves me correctly, I didn't have to take the fiber optic sight out to get to the screw. Again, if you can post a pic, I will probably be able to help you out a little more.

Hey guys I finally got it mounted.
Fabsroman, no it is a double threaded screw that was put in the sight that was removed from the bottom of the sight, but I couldn't get it removed.
I used a match to heat up the screw and then used a nail clipper to grip the tiny screw and was able to remove it. I then put in the correct screw (6/48 I believe) and used some red loc tite and mounted it. Thanks for all the help. Esox357
