Question 6.5mm WSM custom rifle

I'm looking to gather as much info as possible on carbon fiber barrels before I have a custom 6.5mm WSM built for me next spring. I want it to be a ultralight rifle and am looking to use a model 700 action and McMillan stock but still barrel shoping. Any feed back would be great. Thanks

remington and winchester used to offer a carbon barreld rifle. it may have been a christensen arms barrel. maybe you can get a hold of someone that has one.

I've seen them to but it still would be nice to talk to someone that doesn't work there about owning them and how long they last and how accurate they are. Ya know

I'm having that done as we speak. I was just always curious about the carbon fiber I guess. I've seen used in all other sorts of applications and have heard good and bad about. I just have never come in contact with someone who has had hands on experience with carbon fiber barrels thats all.

I moved this thread here - maybe it'll find a new audience with some knowledge.

I've seen barrels by Christensen, but only in their booth at SHOT Show. Never at the range or afield.

Thats good to know I'm sure the basics are the same for those barrels wether its for rimfire or centerfire. It seems carbon fiber is becoming more popular I've seen advertisements for all carbon fiber stocks already.
