5 bucks feeding together on October 29th?

I went out today and about 100 yards from where I was gonna set up, I spotted 5 bucks feeding together.....2 spikes, 2- 4 pointers, and one 6-8 pointer....I have never seen that many bucks feeding together at this point in the season...it is supposed to be the pre-rut! What gives? I also noticed that the rubs that are normally out there at this time aren't there. Think the pre-rut is running a little late?

Ya know I was gonna make a post bout how many deer I saw last nite till I saw this one lol...I've been seein a few rubs here and there..alotta scrapes. Lilones are still with their mamas I noticed..but I also noticed bucks..lots of em runnin every whichaway. Last nite we spotted a monster buck crossin the road by the house here. Only reason we could see fer it, is the pile of does that live behind the house. There is a buck back there with em, but he aint nowhere near the size of this brute.
We counted 36 deer last nite on a 20 minute ride to Farmville.
Some were runnin round like somethin crazy.
I dont think you have anythin to worry bout..by next Sat we should be set. I believe the bucks are def. gittin more agressive.
Those bucks you seen are young yet they're still learnin to play by the rules..so I wouldnt think it too unusual.
Sides..I wouldnt complain too much bout a bunch of bucks hangin round my stand..that'll git ya jinxed!

I talked with the nephew in Newport News this morning. He said there was Frost n the Pumpkin this morning.

He said that he saw a 140/150 class buck on the edge of a subdivision that he controll shots for in Yorktown Va this week.

Bucks...and Bucks

What Lilred said is about it. Lot of activity here all of a sudden. Scrapes all around the woods on the farm here. I went out in the muzzleloader season that they have had here. Bucks are getting crazy. Had a 140 class buck within 10 yds of me Friday night. Wind from him to me and he was a stinkin...been doing that buck thing if'n ya know what I mean. All the velvet seems to be off the deer I have seen. BTW it was just a doe season...and I sure don't want an ol stinkin buck anyway. Now if I happen to see that ol 180 class buck this year...well I might just be tempted to change my mind..what little there is of it!!

I shot a doe friday night and when we drug her out she ran in very close to two scrapes, but two 8 points are still hanging out together back there. Saturday afternoon I saw what appeared to be a nice 3 1/2 year old buck trailing a doe out in a field about 3 hours before dark. Some of them are getting worked up, but they are still not very aggressive. Some light sparring going on, but nothing serious yet.
