BUying a shotgun.
Anything in particular that I should look for when buying a used muzzleloading shotgun?
Went to pick up my shotgun that I had in for repair at the gunsmiths the other day, and noticed a 10 gauge double in the rack. It's a caplock, and it looks original....price is marked down to $225 from $450! Ramrod looks knew, but I was thinking about buying it and using it as a fowler. Some of the parts appear new/newer than the rest of the gun (caps, ramrod). No name or make on the gun. Any thoughts/comments?

It depends
If you like it and the price is right you are almost home free on the purchase. I would examine the bores with a bore light or at least run a patch with solvent on it down the tubes. Examine the solvent patch and see if there are signs of rust. Also, remove the nipples and look at the threads and into the breach area. If everything looks OK, offer them $200.00. Good luck. All the best...

BUMMER! Talked with the owner today, and he is selling it as a wall hanger only.
