7 RUM strikes at 750
Sorry Boyd, but you still have me bested.
Mine was just a little doe, but the 7 RUM killed one yesterday from the 750'ish mark while the 338 Tomahawk took 2 out around the 790 yard mark. I haven't seen any horn yet, kind of makes a guy wonder why he passed up 10 different bucks during archery season! ha ha. Well if I don't get to fill it by Saturday I'll just break out the old flintlock! Here's a picture of me shooting one at 731 yards on Tuesday with bigbrother spottin me with the Big Eyes I'm all out of tags for this unit so my long range days are over this year (except for the New Spot, but I doubt I'll make it up there)

Here's a picture of another shooter who took one yesterday with Ol_spark's new 338 Tommy.
Not too shabby for a first timer. She was pretty pleased

Petey,
Is that your wife shooting? Does she go out hunting with you at all?

Nope, that's a co-worker's wife. My wife doesn't hunt, just complains when I come home with no meat

Petey,
I was really surprised that your factory gun ,7RUM, would make the distance. But when you hit that deer, it dropped right now, not even a tail twitch. Makes me wonder why I quit shootin' the 7 and went bigger. Anyhow, it was a nice day for sure, if it hadn't been for the PGC stopping by. I still say those road hunters were pi$$ed at not seeing anything and burning up a tank of gas so they called in the fuzz. Why else would they come at us from two directions? That makes twice this year that I've heard the PGC say there are very few deer around. Dah!!What was everyone been trying to tell them for 3 years now? So now they are saying the hunters were giving false reports and their information was not accurate. The PGC doesn't have a glue in my book, but that's a different topic. Sandy did a terrific job for shooting a strange gun, under different conditions than she is used to shooting, and considering the weather was not that nice either. My hat is off to her and her husband should be proud. After all, she has taken a deer at a longer range than he has. hehehe Maybe he's interested in buying the 338 tommy? Too bad you couldn't stick around for the final drag. It was a tall one with lots of loose leaves under the snow. My footing wasn't too good so I doubt that I was much help. Either way at least we didn't have to wear the waders and use the long rope. Of course a winch with an 800 foot rope would have really come in handy.

I guess that's what I get for buying one of those darn Remington's. Before you know it my bolt will probably fall off, huh Skinny?
How's that for "out of the box". Not too many guns can claim good enough to shoot our little 50 pound deer that far away She's definitly enjoyable to shoot, and probably the best deal I've made to date! I'd buy another if I had the money, but why bother... all you need is one Remington and it'll do the job from any distance
