Flinter to percussion

I am thinking of converting my .36 squirrel rifle to percussion. It has a Siler Large lock. Would I be better off buying a new percussion lock or converting the orginal?

I know I may regret it later, but have been thinking about it for a while.

Nyghtfall,

Will you do the conversion yourself or hire it done by a gunsmith? Historically, many flinters were converted to percussion in the 1825-1840 period in US history. Let us know how the conversion works out.
