Fun with Flintlocks.

Today was sunny, 58 degrees, and with a slight breeze. Old Yellow Lab and I went to the backyard bench and rang gongs all afternoon with a TC .45 Hawken flinter and a .50 smoothbore TC Hawken flinter. We shot round ball and 80 grain charges of 2F Goex. I finally found a good .015" patch that works in both guns with my cast balls.

The dog, Lori, is only a year old and she loves to go the the target bench. Lori likes guns so much, she barks and runs about in the den if I handle any gun in her presence.

My former dog, a Basset hound was so gun shy, Harold had a picture of Sarah Brady on the wall over his dog bed! Well, my dog situation is much better now.
