I know a few who have them and love them. Finding them used is not an easy task at all.

Not Vaquero but Blackhawk
My best friend has the very LIMITED Blackhawk 5 1/2" Stianless Steel Bisley.
He says that he just loves the thing. He has several double-action handguns and does not like the way my Blackhawk Liberty Model rolls up into the hand under hard recoil, using heavy loads of course. He says that the Bisley grip works much better for him. I think I will except his thoughts as being right for him. He, He, He. I perfer the regular grip frame on my Blackhawk. I've added thicker Ivory Micarta Grips that are wider than factory and fitted them with the factory frame to fit my hand. I've got big hands and the wider grips work for me. I've fired his Bisley grip Blackhawk and its ok. Bulletpusher

I only own 3 fixed-sighted handguns and have been fortunate to be able to "load to the sights." Fixed sights on any handgun are useless, in my opinion, if you have a variety of bullet weighs to shoot in that gun, because none or (maybe) one will shoot to the sights, if you luck out.
For a few dollars more, get adjustable sights and shoot where your gun is "looking." Fixed sights are cheap and rarely on point of aim. If you like a "crap shoot", gamble on fixed sights; been there and done that! Adam

For rough use, you cannot beat those non-adjustable, non-dingable, non-breakable sights!
Finding THE load for them may take time, but you spend that time shooting. How bad is that? Once you find the load it likes, that little hip-hanger is a mighty good friend when you're out in badger, rattlesnake and mountain lion country.

I'm with Rocky on this one. Most of my handguns are set up for one load only. It's that age old KISS principle. For that purpose, a fixed sight Bisley would suit me just fine. I haven't found one yet, but I did find one with adjustable sights in .45 Colt. I haven't had a chance to get out and shoot it yet, but I am looking forward to the pleasure. As it it destined to be a trail gun, it will be loaded up with stiff loads suited only to Ruger strength revolvers. The area where I sometimes hike has lots of mountain lions and black bears. We've had a few problems with them coming into town due to out very prolonged drought. There have been a few incidents where the lions have eyed hikers as if contemplating their next meal. A few years back, a beaer dragged a young woman from her then during a church campout. Fortunately, one of the chaperone had the sense to bring a .44 Mag. revolver and he emptied it into the bear which ran away. Game and Fish tracked trhe bear down and killed it. We nenver did hear where his shot went into the bear, but it took G&F about three hours to track the bear down and finish it off.
I always go armed when out hiking in the boonies. I learned that lesson many years ago after a Black Angus bull chased me up a tree. I spent the whole afternoon and about half that night up that tree before the bull left. The enxt day I bought a Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 mag. and have carried one ever since. Paul B.
