newbie to lr

I took my wife ground hog hunting this weekend. She had finally had enough of Olspark, my buddies, and myself laughing and talking about shooting long range that she decided to give it a whirl. The first hog I found was at 486 yards. After a little repositioning she promptly fired a shot that I didn't get a good look at. (She fired when I wasn't exactly looking through the big eyes) I truly thought that she killed on her first shot. Sadly though she evidently shot right over it.

Throughout the day, we laughed and carried on as she killed a couple and stoned one at 1040. I had more fun spotting for her Saturday than I can describe. The only bad thing about the day was that we had lent our camera to Olspark for his Yellowstone trip this week so I have no photographic proof!

All in all we had a great day and she did great shooting at hogs from 330 yards to 1040. This was the first time she's shot in 14 years! She is definitely hooked and I hope to get some pics of her this summer with a ground hog with a sign that shows yardage over 1000

We believe ya, glad you both had a great time....its amazing what a woman develops within herself when she can shoot and hunt, Oh I know its a natural for some of you men....but for a woman that confidence permeates every fiber of her being...she becomes a better mother, better friend and a better citizen with those skills...I know that sounds sappy...but you did a good thing with your wife....congrats..
