Does anyone know about modern MZLDR pressures?

When using a modern inline muzzleloader and 100 grains of blackpowder or the equivalent, what pressures does a .50 caliber rifle operate?

Thanks in advance.

Wish I could say with only that. Need to know what kind of powder to help more, but 100g pyrodex will run about 20,000PSI from what I read.

Thanks Rem 700

The load in the rifle I'm shooting is two Pyrodex 50 grain pellets pushing a Nosler or Knight sabot w/ a 240 grain Hornady lead SWC.

I am also shooting two 50 grain Triple7 pellets pushing the same 240 grain LSWC's in a Nosler or Hornady sabot.

The rifle is a Knight Wolverine with a 26 inch barrel. Ignition is with musket caps.

Thanks in advance.

Pressure is going to be dependant on several things besides just the powder. Your bullet weight will affect the pressure as will how tight the load is in the barrel. The powder you use will also determine pressure too... so with a 50 caliber barrel and a 26" barrel you could expect pressure ranges in the 20,000 PSI range according to the most recent Lyman Black Powder Loading manual.
