Walked into the local gunshop to pick up some shotshell reloading components this week, and saw a very nice Savage Fox Model B sitting in the rack.

Its a 12 gauge SxS with 26" IC & M barrels, double triggers, vent rib, nice walnut pistol grip stock with real checkering, and overall about 80% condition. I'll probably refish the scratched-up stock, and may add a recoil pad. A bit under $300.

There are still a few decent buys out there if you keep looking.

You did good on that one gold40. I bought a nice Beretta 391 the other day. Sporting gun in really nice condition for 650 bucks. Optima bore gun too...with all the accessories and one extra choke.

I can`t hit anything with a s x s, but at that price it would have followed me home too. I wouldn`d refinish the stock though unless it`s black or something though. I worked on my wife`s cousin`s gun that had been carried in his pickup for over 25 years. I used a product called Arrow wood finish. It`s made to rub out scraches in stock onhand rubbed stocks, but I rubbed out the whole stock with it and it came out looking like new. Just clean the stock and rub it on, great stuff and makes reduing the old hand rub oil finishes an easy job, and the best part is they are like new and original.

Ya'll did get some good deals...I really quit goin in the gun stores cause on counta I'd be broke all the time. The last time I went into a gun store..I went in for shells..came out with an Ithaca automatic lol..but I got a perty good deal on it.
I am itchin fer a new 22 rifle...but I'm savin fer a new crossbow fer next year.
