Black Dimond owners. Hunting load?
I have a Black Dimond that has only been fired about three times. I never played around with different load combos. I have a limmited time to sight this muzzy in, for Whitetail hunting.
I just wanted to ask what load combos, any of you use (or have used) for Deer hunting? This will be a huge help, to save presiouse time. Im not looking for "nail driver" accuracy. Just enough for a maximum 100y, humane kill. I still plan on playing with different loads. I just want to use your info, as a rule of thumb.

Mine liked two pellets of triple seven, and T/C's version of the 240 gr XTP and sabot. Shot pretty well out of it, and it should work okay for you. BTW, it works pretty darn well on deer too.

I just dug through my stuff and actualy found a pack of 240gr XTP w/h the sabots included.
I just need to buy some fresh 777s, primers, a better wrench for taking my breach plug out (the darn gun is scoped), and Gorila grease. Then with luck it will be ready to sight in.

black diamond
i just posted this same procedure in a previous board, shoot about 25 roundball loads first to season the bore , thjen proceed
with your normal hunting load. i''d say two regular pellets should get you to whare you want be accuracy wise with your black diamond, but try 100 grains of 777 powder also, the results may surprise you a bit. also try some sabots designed use 45 cal bullets in your gun, supposedly this combination gives you a bit more accuracy. |
