End of the Season refit of MLs.

This time of year I detail strip all my muzzleloaders, clean them, put a few drops of boiled linseed on the stocks, put some Brasso on the brass furniture and lube the locks for the upcoming shooting season. I also empty my possibles bags and sort out the loads for a good shooting session when the weather breaks.

My modest battery consists of both flinters and caplocks. Cold snowy days seem to just be the best time to go into the gun room and work on the guns. After cleaning the iron, I like to sit by the living room wood stove and read the latest issue of "Muzzle Blasts." It is hard to believe how fast the last year passed by. I plan to hunt more with my frontloaders in 2007.

Adam

adam, you hit the nail on the head. you're built up with anticipation of the upcoming seasons, and bam, you're sitting here at season's end thinking about the past and hunting in the future.
