high tech lever guns

is it safe to say that no body is buying a lever because they are looking for a 200+ gun? i am already fed up with the new hornady marlin thing and the 308 cartridge they have drawn up. then again i was also the first to bash the 45 gap. i just feel this cartridge is taking up too many pages in magazines. i think marlin should get with the rest of the world (my browning or winchester) which have offered 270, 243, and 308 in a lever for a long time, lets face it the only marlin real difference is single loading each shell and who enjoys that. bottom line is the inovations of guns today work well enough with the cartridges of the past 20 years. any body have plans to buy this thing. how about the .30 t/c?

Yeah, they pretty much have reinvented the wheel again... not really sure why. Maybe they wanted to put their stamp on something, or maybe a few engineers have a little too much time on their hands. I'd say the marlin/hornady round has a better chance than the T/C, but we'll see.

It may be just me, but I think that the Savage model 99 was the hightech levergun.

I know everyone has their own opinions, but it was and is, well made, capable of using any bullet type, and had no problems mounting scopes.

sure it doesnt have the capacity of some leveguns, but the ones that hold more, are usually handgun cartridges, not centerfire rifle rounds.

I have to agree with you. the BLR also is a darn nice lever gun, that hasn't really caught on in a big way. I was always a little more partial to the savage. Sorry to see it go.
