new powder

Hey has anybody tried the new blackhorn 209 powder ? If so how did it compare to 777 ? yodie

In what respect? I believe it to be cleaner and produces more velocity per volume than 777. I think BH 209 doesn't leave a crud ring. See thread "Black Powder Alternatives".
BH 209 is best in modern inlines and will not work with certain breech plugs. Refer to their website for details.

One word, AMAZING!!! I shoot BH 209 now and always will. No more cleaning between shots, frozen breech plugs ect... It really is all that it claims to be. 110 gr. by volume and a Barnes 250 gr. MZ Expander gives me one ragged hole at 100 yards with 3 shot groups out of a stock Encore. I shot 777 loose before and can only put down the dirtyness of it. I got good groups with it and killed Deer with it without a problem but Blackhorn blows it away in my eyes.
