New Louisiana Waterfowl Gun

Received a Rem. 11-87 Sortsman from the Wis. Waterfowlers Assoc. It's just the ticket for my Louisiana duck hunts. Here in Wis. I hunt with SxSs or once in awhile backslide to a O/U. My friends blinds down in Cajun country are designed for useing semi autos or pumps. The Rem. should fit the bill for my hunts down there. Will have to do some informal clay shooting to get the swing of things. Can't wait to get back to Pecan Island and try it out.

The 11-87 should work well for you. I used to be an o/u only type of guy until I started hunting waterfowl in box blinds and pit blinds where it was really tough to open up the gun and load it. Plus, I needed the reduced felt recoil of the autos, and it is pretty tough to shoot a triple with an o/u. Not impossible, but pretty tough. Good luck with the new gun.

I'm dying for hunting season to start. It will probably be here before I know it and gone before I know it. Time is just flying by for me.

I've used an 11-87 for a lot of years. Ducks, birds, deer it doesn't matter. Just keep going boom. You should be fine with it.

Got to get out and shoot it one of these days, Have several other autos I shoot on occassion, but my waterfowl hunting here is SxSs, and an O/U if it's a goose outing. Will let you know after Dec. and Jan how well I did with it.

What is all this "winning"? Are these guns being auctioned off, or just given away at events? Save some of your luck for the blinds!!!!!!!!!!!

First one the 11-87 I got for being a life member of the Wisconsin Waterfowl Assoc. The Super Nova I won at the Wisconsin Conservation Wardens Assoc. raffle. I've one 3 from that raffle over the years a TC ML, Rem 700 243 and now the Nova. I buy $100 worth of tickets every year and be actually might be ahead of the game a little.
