Weather

Well Western South Dakota has had rain off and on all summer and the BLack Hills are as green as I have ever seen them at this time of year. Should be a fantastic Fall.

SE Iowa has had a good year so far.
Plenty of rain but not too much.
Coldest July on record.
Crops were a little late going in (wet conditions) but that happens lots of times.
Local rivers are not as low as usual. Good for fish and water critters.
Its been a pretty good year.

have a good 1

Talked with a friend in eastern Nebraska and he said they normally get 22-24 inches of precipitation, but have only had about 8 inches this year. He is about 20 miles north of Columbus. Hey Nebraska Cornhusker fans, How Are they going to do this year? If I remember right, they were about 9 and 4 last year. They seem to be rebuilding. I hope to see them on the tube this year. I'm an old Cornhusker.

We've had good rainfall this summer but now we're in the HHH days.

Oct 3 = Antelope season has started and they are calling for snow in my area. Not a bad thing as it will keep the antelope meat cool which is a must with them. I will hunt the second season starting the 10th and hope it is cool but I can live without the snow.

Nulle, With snow, you and the antelope can see each other a lot farther away. Should make the hunt more challenging!

Nulle, I don't want you to have too much fun in the snow. It would be nice for you to have enough visability to see the antelope. We are leaving for Oregon on Friday and I would rather not make the trip in a blizzard.

Nulle, We dodged the weather bullet on the Oregon trip. Left Friday and returned yesterday. No bad weather on the entire trip. Overcast on Saturday and Sunday @ Ontario but Monday was a blue bird day and the birds were moving. Good hunting and shooting. I know things weren't that way in Wyoming and S.D. during that period. We were lucky. It is raining right now because it is too warm for snow. That will change.

10-15-09 + It is going to be in the 50's today and 70's for the weekend. No antelope yet but I will hit it hard this weekend. We had a pretty good winter kill last year and the population is down in some of the areas I have hunted in.
