Shotgun scope??????

I have 10 days to get a shotgun scope, suitable for a 12ga slug gun.
I have to use my credit card for this, still in debt from my daughters visit.

I would like a 4x fixed. But cant find anything I like. All I see as an option is the Leupold Rifleman slug scope.

ALL IDEAS WELCOME.

It depends

Bushnell makes a shotgun and muzzleloader scope. I have a 4X that is a circle X and I really like it. Hope this helps. All the best...

I have Burris Fullfield II 3-9x 40mm scopes on both of my slug guns. They ran me $199 a piece when I bought them about 7 or 8 years ago.

Burris makes a 4x Timberline scope for $149, and I believe Burris scopes are still made in the US. I know all of the Burris scopes I bought were made in the US and they have a forever warranty.

Ultimately, it depends on what your budget is for this new scope. You should also think about checking out ebay to see if they have anything on there worthwhile.

Do you know what makes a scope a shotgun scope? It's when the manufacturer prints S H O T G U N on the box, for the most part.
Jon, any scope made for a centerfire rifle will do fine as a shotgun scope.

Exactly. Both of the Burris Fullfield II scopes I have on my shotguns are considered rifle scopes. They have several hundred rounds through each of them and they work just fine when I do my part. The only difference in scopes is between firearm/blackpowder scopes and airgun scopes. In fact, I use the same Burris scope on my slug guns, my Ruger 10/22, my Ruger Mini 30, and my T/C muzzleloader. They have all worked just fine even though Burris labels them as rifle scopes.

I have a Bushnell Trophy 1 3/4 x 5 on my 11-87. Before I put it on my SG I used it on a Model 7 Remmie in 308. I believe these are now about $125. Leo's they aren't but they work. This scope is for a shotgun however like most have already said, just about any rifle scope will work on a shotgun.

Hope you get years and years of enjoyment out of that scope. The first Burris I bought was a Signature Series 4-12x 44mm that I put on my Ruger MKII .300 Win Mag that I bought the very same day. That was 17 years ago, many deer ago, and many days in the field ago. I love that gun and scope. With that said, one of the rubber seals on the elevation knob was coming out and Burris took the scope back, repaired it, and sent it back to me all at no charge other than my cost to ship the scope to them. I'll be getting Burris scopes for both my ARs as soon as I finish building them.
