Scope for prairie dogs
Bought a new prairie dog rifle in .223 Remington. Been thinking about putting on a side focus scope and have tentatively decided on the 6-18 SF Nikon Buckmaster. Not sure of what reticule would work the best though. I have several Mildot scopes that I have used in the past with good success, but was wondering if the BDC reticule would be a better option. Any ideas or thoughts about which scope would be appreciated. Thanks.--tr

The Nikon 6-18 seems like a fine choice to me.
Which reticle is somewhat personal preference. My take is that the Mil Dots are too big for varmint shooting- the dots totally cover a varmint at extended range, and then some. I would choose the BDC.
