Marlin Model 38

Hey folks, need some help. I have just aquired a Marlin 38. The wife was cleaning out her Grandparents place and brought me home a couple of rifles found in a closet. One was a 5 Diamond 760 in .270 (Beautiful Shape) and this Marlin 38 ( Also a Beautiful 85 to 95%). Did some web research and found out they were only made from 1921 to 1930 but there was not much more on them. Was wondering if these things are collector items? Not to often you see a pump action .22 with a octagon barrel and a 3 digit serial number. Any info is appriciated.
