I got an M-1A for Christmas!

Ok, it was a day late, but worth it. My son sent me a Christmas card that arrived on 12/26/09 with the cryptic message: "Dad, call me." I called and found out that on 12/24/09 he bought two M-1A Rifles and I get my pick "of the litter" in exchange for some other stuff.

The lad knew I had three Match M-14s in the past that I took to Camp Perry and he figured I needed a reminder of my old NH State High Power Rifle Team days. Yes, life is now good. I will get to show my son how to properly use and maintain an M-14 "clone."

Gil,

I will see the brace of rifles over Memorial Day weekend. I will shoot both and pick the one for local CMP Matches.

You have a fine son there, Adam.....congratulations, and don't forget: they make great deer rifles in pinch!

Mr. 16 gauge,

Yes an M-1A will make a fine deer rife, BUT semis are not legal for hunting in PA.
