Prepping new traps question

Got the 110 conibears that I ordered last week.....now, what's the best way to clean them up (remove the dirt, grease, ect) so I can start to rust them in order to dye them.

Thanks in advance...........

I always used to boil them on the coleman stove in drano or lye to clean them up, but of late just wash them in degreaser and let them rust up a little.

If these are new traps just pop them in the dishwasher.
Anything else just put them in a tub of soapy water and rinse with garden hose.
Generally 110s are used under water.
Scent on them isn't gonna bother much.
Have a good 1
