Getting rifles out for PA Deer November 26.
Our rifle deer season begins on Monday November 26 for two weeks. Here in rural northcentral PA, we use rifles. I got the Ruger 77 .243 out of the vault for the Frau and I got out a M70 Winchester .30-06 made in 1939 for myself.
It it rains during the deer season, I leave the scoped rifle at home and hunt with an "as issued" military rifle like a MkIII .303, a 6.5X55MM M38 Swed or a 98k 8MM. Who else is gearing up for rifle deer season? Adam

I'll be hunting in Ohio the week of the 26th, and then in northwest Pennsylvania on family land the following week. I'll bring along my .30-30 for PA.

Been hunting with the rifle since November 1st here for Mulie's. Was in Northern Alberta for a weekend with rifles in October. Here at home in Sask, rifle opens up Nov 15 for whitetails. I am hoping for some good luck

The season in my area of Wyoming has been open since the first of the month Doe season opens on the 15th I hope some of the locals shoot a lot of the does in this area. We really have too many whitetails. The mulies are almost gone..tween the wolfies and the mountain kitty Where I hunt elk the season has been in since the 15th of Oct. The fellow I hunt with got a 5x4 the other day. I could have shot another 5x4 but chose not to. Too much hauling up and down them mountains If we have rain in the season(yeah right) I'll shoot one out the back window.. Saw a nice little 8 pointer(Eastern) 25 yds from the back window yesterday..Gonna wait till the doe season opens..much better eating..so are the whitetails by the way. I will use my Kimber 30-06 or the Kimber 25-06.. For Elkies I have been carrying the Kimber 300 Win Mag. Saw a grizz going the other way last week..glad he was goin the other way. Been thinkin of using the Savage muzzleloader rather than a 30-06..the range is gonna be kinda short..under a 100 yds

One MORE PA Deer Rifle:
I forgot my rebuilt M1896 .30/40 Carbine. I ran several handload groups over the Chrony last week and all went well. I will carry the .30/40 Opening Day for PA deer because I work hardest keeping the SLOBS off my farm. The 30-acre CORE Area behind my home is where the pressured deer hide and I let them have Sanctuary. Adam

i've got 4 already adam! after last year zero kills it feels good to know we can eat the good stuff all winter. the buck and two doe were with the bow one with the ml. Im still after another one because i bought a brand new rifle and scope (rem 700 in 308) last year and still didnt make no meat with it. and it would be cool to get one with bow, rifle and ML all in the same year. didnt see a thing yesterday. today my buddies saw deer every where while im at work

kt,
It was cold and windy at 0630 yesterday for the Tioga County rifle deer opener. I saw nothing until noon when I saw four does bedded in my core area. I kept on moving without breaking stride and they stayed safe. We have far too few deer here. I wish you Southeast PA folks would live trap a few thousand deer and bring them here. None of my neighbor farmers shoot does so our diminished deer herd can recover! Be well. Adam
