Plowed up my deer food plot.
This county is the most rural in PA and has fewer and fewer farms as development and new residents come in. The Gas drilling has made many suddenly-rich farmers stop farming and start spending their windfall.
I have a plowed a strip in my big hayfield to be planted to field corn to be left for food for deer, bears, turkeys and whoever else is needing food in the lean days of Winter. If this pans out, I will plow another field next Spring for alfalfa or soybeans. Adam

Food left for the other critters is a nice thing to do Adam. A few farmers around here leave a few strips just for that reason. One even does a 2 acre field in corn every year. I also can't believe our PGC stooped to planting corn in a bunch of game land fields this year. #285. Once I asked why they only cut trees, etc was told they wanted to provide cover for deer when they passed through and not raise them. I pointed out there were no birds, turkey, doves, deer to be found or their tracks in their gamelands the past few years as they all left to graze in farmers fields or on private lands. I use to watch car after car park there and take their guns for a walk. Must have thought about it. Just like the critters, you have to leave some seed. Way to go.
