CCW Holsters
This past week I had two students come by with handguns and holsters that made me cringe. The first was a plastic-type thing that took two hands to make a draw out of it. The other holster was a skeletonized thing that let the trigger fully exposed BEFORE a draw was made. I lent both students holsters for the class and both shot very well.
I suggest all carry holsters cover the pistol trigger while the handgun is holstered. When a draw is made, the trigger finger cannot enter the trigger guard until after the handgun is pointed down range. A good holster is expensive and will last a lifetime. Adam

Thank you for the kind reply regarding "Good Call." There are many folks looking for input about CCW and many are not too gun savvy. That is where we gently advise folks. I have full classes of teachers, priests, housewives and others really looking for help with questions about their CCW options. We get them all sorted out after a while for the betterment of our society. I may never stop running classes. Be well. Adam

1. Get the proper equipment.
2. Get trained on your equipment to use it properly. 3. PRACTICE! 4. PRACTICE!! 5. PRACTICE!!! I have a Fobus Roto for my M&P9, and a Wilson Combat for my 1911. I like to carry around the house and just practice drawing, lining my sights, and making mag changes. One day I might even get good with it!!

Unfortunately many gun ranges forbid holster draw of handguns on the firing line. We draw from the holster on my ranges. Adam

I have a few IWB holsters from Half Moon Holsters - very light and simple holsters, but they do cover the trigger guard.
I also use a Yaqui slide type holster for my 1911 - I like simple.
