PA rifle deer season opens Monday, 11-28-16.

Our PA rifle deer season opens this Monday. I have some really nice deer pictures from my trail cameras. We have one very nice buck and three nearly as nice bucks running about and the wife will be in a stand this Monday.

The weather is for mild temperatures, partly sunny with highs in the 40s and chance of rain all week. For still hunters, the leaves will be soft and quiet.

Our four-day bear season ended the day before Thanksgiving. It was also in the 40s and nice. I saw no bears, but had a good stroll over the ridges anyway with a favorite rifle.

Best of luck to all the other deer hunters; hunt safe and aim small....

Adam

My deer season ends the last day of the month. I might put my camo bathrobe on and sit out in the breakfast nook with my camo coffee cup the next day or so. Wait for a deer to come up saying shoot me shoot me!! The buck season is over. We were back east in Md/De when the season opened on the first. Gal we had watching the house and taking care of the critters got a nice little 8 pointer(eastern count) the day we got back. and the part time mail gal got a nice sized whitetail buck with screwed up horns. I had the gal's (housesitter)grandfather out the other day and put him in a likely place. he got a nice fat doe for eating. The ol fellow is soon to be 90 y.o. Other than the fact the deer think our crops were planted just for them I would just leave 'em alone. But we have wwwaaayyy too many deer

My 2016 PA Rifle Deer Season was a TOTAL Success-I got no deer.

I was out for 11 days of the 15 day season and saw deer everyday because I have provided a 30-acre Core Area and a food plot on this farm.

On three days I did have a BIG Buck in view obscured by spike bucks crashing heads in the way of a shot to a bigger buck beyond. Whatever.

Our two week deer season was Bucks ONLY the first week and concurrent buck and doe, with proper license, during week two. I heard very few shots about, I saw many deer and they still call my farm home.

Luckily the old big boy is still running around here. I saw him today herding his harem around. He had 14 does and he was keeping them in check. He has a 12 point rack(eastern) but while a nice one I doubt he will score more than 155-165 B&C because he has a basket rack... not very wide but tall and heavy. I see many of his offspring around too. He keeps them all chased off
