A good, good, good day!

Today was a GREAT day for me.

My old buds finally got the Space Shuttle launched safely.

Notre Dame won again.

And the printer's proof copy of my new book arrived.

It doesn't get much better than this.

I spent a good part of my day at the range

Shot my wifeys 270, my TC Renegade Muzzy loader, and my 870 Express(Slugs and 00 Buck)

Had a good day myself

Now for a shower and off to the bar

Good for you Rocky, Once in a while the stars all line up and things go well. Soak it in.

Happy for the folks at the space shuttle, there's a Minnesota gal in this crew. A good friend of mine is a corporate pilot and is typed into the same plane as a former shuttle pilot and they've got through flight safety together for a couple years. He's learned a bit of the space program and has a whole new respect for it. I don't remember the shuttle pilot's name, but they called him Buzz. A real gentleman from what my friend tells me.

I'll get me a copy of the book this winter, but I can't help spread the cheer about Notre Dame. When are they going to join the Big Ten

No, got a check the day before, though. So it was almost a four-way deal.

I'll spend the next coupld days marking up the book (WHY don't those little errors show up on screen, but leap out off the printed page?) and then start the print run.

Here's the cover...

Sounds like a darn good day. Good launch, good game (as long as you're not a Penn State fan, LOL), good news on the book. The Irish are looking tough again this year, possibly a rematch of the last Fiesta Bowl in the works?

Congrats Rocky. May you sell thousands and thousands of copies.

I haven't been around here for a spell, things have been nuts in my world.

not to steal rockys thread, those are 2.75" rocket launchers. came with various explosive heads, the most popular being white phosphours with flechettes.

buy the way rocky, did you ever stop in at phu cat for fuel and a reload in '67 or '68? it was my load crews and i's honor to load that aircraft with rockets and send it off on it's way.

gave it the whole schmear, stray volt check and all. and loaded it up with rockets. we weren't used to working on prop jobs. sure gave them a wide birth. we were all flabbergasted at that aircraft.

what a neat little machine.

Nope, never did. I was there in '71. For a while I was stationed at LZ English, just up Hwy One and through the Bong Son pass from Phu Cat.
