They gave me my knife back. He also said he thinks my 3 inch buck knife in plain sight is ok....the guy did kind of flip and I understand his point.

Welcome to our world.....I have been pulled over on some back country rural roads...always with a gun in my car.....and definitely with some dark tint windows.... my first thought is this guy has no idea what he is walking up to...so I always put on my inside light....roll the front windows all the way down...I used to get out but I dont think they like when you do that anymore.....reach for my purse to get my info....I never mention the gun first...you cant help but see it..always get asked if its loaded..yes sir...they never usually mention it again....guess I dont have that escaped fugitive look.....

In N.Y.S. if you have a handgun permit the cop will know when he runs your plates. So I was always greeted by skiddish LEO's when pulled over. Most LEO's from the city of Sorryecuse (Syracuse) never touched a firearm untill they went through their training. Most N.Y.S handgun owners have had a lifetime of experience.
Everytime I was pulled over after reciving my permit, the LEO has his hand ready to draw. So I didnt givem an ecuse, to fire 15rds, and be grazed by one round. I alwayes had my hands 10:00, and 2:00 on the wheel, and let them know every stinkin move I was to make, before I made it. Then I get harassed by dumb questions like "Is my permit up to date?", "Do I have any illigal firearms in my vehical?" Thats N.Y. for ya ... Then again mabe I have the escaped fugitive look
