Their job was to monitor Charlie, and get the information back to their base. Scary stuff, and zero recognition later. On their best day, they called in a B52 strike, and later counted 600+ bodies.
Tell your Brother thank you from me for his work. He and his pardners found many trucks etc. for us to shoot up. Even though we had sophisticated electronic gear we couldn't find them all the time. They were well hidden and camo'd. They were also protected and surrounded by beau coup AAA guns.

Was your Brother stationed in Thailand? We had a group of those fellows at NKP when I was there. I was a member of the 18TH Special Ops. Sq., 52ND, SO Wing.

I can't imagine what your Brother went through. If I were him I'm sure my uniform would have been constantly soiled--------from the inside.

Best wishes< Bill

Much later.

Wait until you meet "Mule" in the book. He might seem a bit familiar - to Rosie! Snicker, snicker, smirk.

I finished "Mike 58". Brought back some memories. I can't tell you how many times I cracked up, even read a few lines to Rosie. I was afraid that Rusty was going to get "Nailed" before the end. Do you have another book in the works?
I quit taking the "Pill" after a few months in country. Hard to hump bombs and rockets when you're on the $$itter.
Yes Mule did remind me of someone, even the last name The only Hueys I ever flew on had M-60's. Mule had it made with the mini-gun.
How about a sequel? Mike 58 is back and he's Raven mad. You'll have to deal with Mary Beth.
No problem

Yeah, Mule's last name was too good to pass up. There really was a gunner like that who went by "Mule" by the way.

The next book picks up where M58 leaves off. No more combat, but lots of flying. Rusty still has things to say, do and experience.

Glad you liked it.

Hey, did you go to the Big Reno Show today? Typical weather for the winter show, too!

Yep never miss a show. I bought a flag memorial case. My father passed away 10/30/07. He was 96 and a retired Colonel in the Marine Corp and the Marines presented me the flag. I looked all over for the case and wouldn't you know it, I found one at a gun show.
