catching crawlers

Rained pretty heavy over the weekend, so went out and caught some night crawlers for this season....nothing fancy about it: take a flashlight and look for them on the edge of the sidewalk. Grab 'em (yah gotta be quick!) and pull with a steady, but gentle force....they usually give up rather quickly. Put them in an old styrofoam cooler with some leaves and dirt, wet an old t-shirt or other cloth and put it on top, keep 'em cool (fridge works best, but I usually put a sealed bottle of cold water in the cooler) and feed them some carrot and potato peelings on occasion.....replenish as the rain storms allow.;)
Good luck to all you anglers this season..............

We used to cover the lens of the flashlight with red cellophane.
