catching crawlers
Rained pretty heavy over the weekend, so went out and caught some night crawlers for this season....nothing fancy about it: take a flashlight and look for them on the edge of the sidewalk. Grab 'em (yah gotta be quick!) and pull with a steady, but gentle force....they usually give up rather quickly. Put them in an old styrofoam cooler with some leaves and dirt, wet an old t-shirt or other cloth and put it on top, keep 'em cool (fridge works best, but I usually put a sealed bottle of cold water in the cooler) and feed them some carrot and potato peelings on occasion.....replenish as the rain storms allow.
Good luck to all you anglers this season..............

We used to cover the lens of the flashlight with red cellophane.
