Info Needed on Marlin Mdl 700 .22

Evening Folks
Was given a Marlin Mdl 700 .22 rifle, Does it have a bolt hold open feature? I tried with the clip inserted but bolt does not stay open for cleaning, so I disassembled the rifle to clean it. Didn't get a owners manual with it so thought you folks might know? Thanks MC
