2004 Illinois Slug Buck.

Hi All,
This is one of the bigger bucks I saw brought into the check station this last season. I don't know the guy's name that killed him but, he's a very nice buck! I'm thinking he'll score in the mid 150's or so, I think the guy said he field dressed out at around 210-220lbs?

I'd be amazed if he grossed 140. As a 4x5 with a totally average rack as far as main beam and tine length, circumferances and spread he'd be lucky to net above 130. I'd bet on 126 or so. But then pictures can be so deceptive.

Omega, I'm talking gross score, he's much bigger than he looks in these pics! I was thinking after I got the pics developed & looked at them that I should have had the guy hold him up. If you look at the bottom pic you can see the rack sticks up above the bed of the truck. I guess you'd have to see him in person, I'll call the guy & ask him what he ended up scoring, he said he was going to put him right over his fire place next to his other buck.

Like you say pics are tough to judge from. But it looks like maybe 18" spread, 41/4" bases and 22" main beams. Do the math and it fall a long ways short of 140 let alone 150. But hey I've been wrong many times before!
