Ive been reading these posts thinking you all are giving Chessies a bad rap as I have 2 six year old Chessies that are big babies (105 and 135 lbs) and have never shown any aggression to people or other dogs since they were pups UNTIL LAST WEEK.
I took them out to do their thing in the dusk of early morning. I never put their leashes on until I get them outside as if I touch them its an instant accident so routine for years has been open door, dogs run out and squat, snap on leashes, and good to go. But when I opened door both dogs ran out and across yard into street and got into a fight with a dog being walked by a lady. The other dog is a very mild mannered dog and didnt even attemp to defend himself and ended up with a big open wound on his side. long and short of this I accepted responsibility for several hundred dollars of vet bills, I think the other dog is going to be ok and my Chessies and I parted company.
