Need a Spotting Scope

I need a spotting scope mainly for use at the range. Shooting at 200 yds my eyes aren't the best in the world so it has to be sharp. Also some use in the field close to the road so weight is of less importance. What power, objective and brand? $400-600.

I use a cheap old Tasco 15 X 45 spotter. It is not the world's best, but then it did not cost much. I can see .223 holes at 100 yards just fine.
I would love to have a better one, but I have been leery of spending a lot of money, without trying one out at the range.

spotting scope

I Have two spotting scopes. A Bausch & Lomb Elite and a Bushnell Spacemaster. You could spend more, but I wouldn't spend any less than the Spacemaster, It's a pretty good scope. It's a bit heavy, but very clear. If you're interested in buying a used one let me know.
