How to determine the correct arrow type?

Cut the vanes off an arrow and shoot it with a field tip,make sure you are close when you start off,This will show any tuning problems and underspined arrows.The goal here is you should be able to shoot vane less arrow's accuratley to the distances you will be hunting.

Never heard about this, anyone shoot vaneless arrows to get sighted in?

I've done it for initial tuning, but never at hunting distances.
Would be interested in hearing other's experience on it.
