Hey guys.....quick note...
I've been a bit absent lately but have been following the Perfect deer rifle thread. I'm glad it stayed on the light side as intended...:-).....
Now the reason for my MIA......I had a heart attack 10 days ago. What I wanted to tell you guys is this: I had NO previous symptoms and nothing to label me a good candidate for this. Not overweight, no shortness of breath, very physically active, drag deer out and no problems. Even my blood tests were good. Bad cholesterol was just 114. The doctors said "Yep, you are in very good shape, just a bad gene pool." I do not even have to change my diet for God's sake. They said I had already had one heart attack previously (I had NO clue) and damage to about 10% of my heart. I am in a daze and cannot believe this has happened. They opened some arteries for me with stents and gave me the drugs and said take it easy for a little while and everything should be fine. Of course I must quit smoking (They tell you that even if you skin your knee! I do know it isn't good for me and wish I'd never started in the first place.) I just wanted to tell you all this as a warning. If you think there is ANYTHING going on go get checked out. Even my attack was not the"Classic" symptoms so do not think it has to be that way. Anyway, I hope it's ok to put this post here and if anyone wants to, feel free to put it anywhere else as well. I don't mind and if it gets even one person to go get checked out and it saves them from damage or death, it is worth it. Just remember, "You do NOT have to have the classic symptoms to be in VERY serious trouble!!" Take care and keep well Tony |

Wow, glad you're OK. A friend of mine had a similar experience a few years ago and he told me to keep some regular aspirn around at all times. If you have any sign of a heart attack just take one and watch yourself.
Thanks for the info and we're glad you're doing well.

my brother died at 44
ya just never know.
my brother died of a massive hear attack at 44. he was skinny, active, no prior heart trouble. yes he smoke and drank, funny thing is he was actually in the clinic for pain in his knee waiting to be seen when he had the heart attack. actually in the clinic waiting to be seen and they could not save him. very very scary, i have been checked out and supposedly i am fine, with slightly high cholesterol. they think he had blood clot in his knee area and maybe broke loosse and got caught in his blocked artery, autopsy showed he did have heart disease. just did not know it. |

Tony,
Glad to hear that you are doing well, but I actually wish it were the perfect deer caliber thread that had you off the board for a while. My fiance's father had a heart attack when he was about your age he had a heart attach and the only thing he thought he was suffering from was a case of heartburn. He went through most of the day with that symptom until his wife finally thought he might be having a heart attack and they went to the hospital. Sure enough, he was having a heart attack and now he is on all sorts of medication. Glad to see you posting again and I hope you have a speedy recovery.
