Need a holster

Well, I've got the gun and the ammo, now I just need a holster. Only problem is, everyplace I look, the only holsters I find are for LE-type applications like IWB, ankle, etc. I just want a nice piece of leather to wrap around my new pistola while I'm out humpin the hills Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Tater,
My father in law has a leather shop here in Wyoming. He custom makes holsters for pistols, rifles, knives and flashlights. He has even been hand picked by the Pony Express Commission to hand make their Mochilla or saddlebags every year for the state hosting the Pony Express ride. He is generally cheaper than store bought and better quality work with heavier leather. The drawback is that he may not already have a pattern for your pistol and would have to track one down or get yours for a custom fit. He doesn't just slap something together that will go around the gun but rather custom makes each holster to fit the weapon.

Anyway, if you find something that works the great. If not then let me know and I can get you in touch with him. Good luck.

Barring something custom as krshunter mentioned, I'd look towards the Bianchi Cyclone holster. It can be used as a crossdraw or strong side holster. It is great for hunting and hiking as it offers protection up beyond the trigger group which really helps keep crap out of the action like dirt, weeds, etc. They run about $50 plus or minus. I use one for my Mountain Guns when I carry a sidearm into the field.

Here's a partial look at it....

keep your searches open on Ebay.

I just bought a nylon in the waist holster, like brand new for $.99 that's right $.99. of course it cost me around $5 to ship it but hey, where else are you going to get a nice holster for a .357 for $6.

I could put you in touch with some very good leather guys. What kind of handgun are you needing 'clothes' for?
Some leather guys make better gear for particular types of handguns.
