Both Good!!!
I dont think youll go wrong with either one.I have an Omega and like how easy it is to take apart and clean.Remove the breech plug.The all you do is take the 2 screws out holding it in the stock.Remove the 2 set screws on the trigger assembly and push out the 2 pins.Maybe one of the Knight guys will post their veiws also.I have looked at/handled both and would say that they are top quaility in their price range.The Omega "feels" better to me.JMHO.Be sure and post what you end up getting.

Here is how much i like and trust my omega, it heads for the field in rifle season more than my .308 Knights are truly top of the line i just really hate the whole thing with putting your primer in a plastic thing, thompsons set up is easier. P.S. If some one could get this post to the modern muzzleloader forum more people with info that skip this forum might see it.

rubicon,
I think this post belongs on the Modern Muzzloader site run by a knowledgeable guy named Mazter. I will try to move this post, but if I fail please repost there. Adam

def go with TC
Definatley go with the TC omega. I just purchased an OMega 3 weeks ago and killed a nice little 5 point with it new years eve. The knight revolution from what i have heard has alot of complaints. For one if youre not a big person with long arms theres no way youll be able to shoot it because it is very long, I could hardly shoulder the thing. Where as the omega goes up nice and you dont have to fumble for those stupid little plastic jackets that go on the primers. And for cleaning the Omega is the easiest. I dont even take off the stock i just unscrew the breach blug. Get the Omega definatley

KT,
If you like your Omega more than your .308, I think you should be posting in the rifles forum about who makes a good .308 and then look into buying one. I prefer my rifles over my muzzleloader any day for the killing of deer. Now, that is because I am only interested in killing deer. There are people out there that will not use a rifle because they prefer the sport of bow hunting or muzzleloading, and if that is the case, I say fine. However, if a person is in it just for the meat, I am sure they would take an accurate rifle over a muzzleloader any time of the day. This past season, I dropped two deer at 250 yards with my .300 Win Mag, and the shots were one after another as the deer jumped a creek and paused on the other side. First one jumped and I shot it, worked the bolt, and the other jumped and I shot it. Not only is a 250 yard shot tough with a muzzleloader, but two shots in that amount of time is physically impossible unless you are using two muzzleloaders. As far as muzzleloaders are concerned, I am currently using a T/C Black Diamond and I like it plenty. However, if I were in the market for a new muzzleloader, it would definitely be the T/C Encore. Haven't actually shot that gun yet, but I like the way it looks and the options it provides. Obviously, I would have to shoulder it before I bought it, but something tells me that it would probably feel pretty good.

well the .308, hmmmm. it wasnt something i paid for it was a hand-me down from my grandfather and for what it is its just about tops, browning BLR, a fantastic lever weapon. I have considered a bolt many a times but it seems with in a few years my area is gonna go shotgun/ml only so that would be a silly move on my part. however even still with that gun my groups with the omega are so much better than with the .308 and 250yds, why thats just not happening where i live. I still say back to the original point between the two the omega's primer system is better than the knights cant really find a preference any other way.
kt shooting just for meat? thats what goose season is for , jk |

For me I like the Omega better. It has a better fit for this fat guy. The Rev is IMO a bit bulky and heavier than I want. As far as quality, flip a coin. They are both good.

KT,
I am glad that you like eating the geese. Let me know if you ever run short and I will ship some up to you. I used to feed them to my Piranha and am thinking about cutting the breasts up and mixing some of it in with my dog's food. About the only thing I like to do with geese is make jerky out of them. I'll take a venison loin or steak over a goose breast any day. By the way, I completely understand what you mean by the rifle going the way of the dino pretty soon. I think that is headed my way rather soon where I hunt because they are building development after development in that county. It truly sucks.

no fabs, i wont go as far as saying i hate goose meat, but well its close, makes good jerky , other wise i just mentioned meat hunting because with geese you sure can stock pile it.

KT,
Deer hunting is probably different for you than it is for me. I killed 12 two years ago without trying too hard and killed two this year in just a single day of hunting, but missed another two that same day that I shouldn't have missed. Around here, it is a lot easier to stock pile a ton of deer meat. Then again, I have shot 100+ geese in a year several times. What do you think, does 100 geese equal 12 deer?

well that would take some math, but would say it cant be too far off, i just cant imagine having to get rid of it all. in quality of table fare 100geese dont = one tenderloin
and yes things are different for the two of us, a few years back i could manage 4 in a year, now many PA boys are saying getting one is quite the challenge. |
