Skinnies and fatties

Ol spark and I finally got out on Saturday for my first long ranging trip of the year. The 6.5 seemed to be on fire as it dropped 3 ghogs over 400 yards. The first 2 kills were pretty much out of the same set of holes right around 437 yards. Both fat females.

The best shot of the day didn't even connect as the skinny moved his head before the bullet got there! No kidding. I had a perfect sight picture on his head broadside at 570 yards and squeazed the trigger. He turned his head to look right at us just as the bullet hit right where his head was! Oh well, I got the last laugh as about 1/2 an hour later he was standing at the same hole facing away from us and I shot him in the back of the head! I felt pretty good about that one as it was about as big as a 20oz pepsi bottle.

Another side note, I missed one at 1050yds but was close enough on the 1st shot to scare him into his hole for the rest of the afternoon. I guess that just means he'll be there this weekend! He's got a buddy at just over 950 from where we set up but I didn't get the opportunity to ruin his day.

All in all it was a pretty good day with 3 kills on 8 shots with the closest shot being 435 yards, the farthest being 1050. (all ranged with Olspark's new Leica geovid by the way)
