I just couldnt believe this........I hate to read about crap like this...

And to the horror of several adults and children at the Kolinoski family July 4 picnic, she did exactly that with a powerful firecracker thrown into her yard.

Sounds to me like it was a "regulated" type firecracker in order to do that damage and persons to blame should be jailed !

Here is the rest of the story..and your right Nulle...sounds like a pretty big firecracker to do that damage...........
Kolinoski said the 3-year-old, 8-pound dog was blown to pieces and was buried shortly after the incident. After initially declining to press charges, according to the sheriff's report, Kolinoski said he now wants to bring criminal charges against the uncle, Stuart resident William George Kenny III. Kenny, 46, could not be reached for comment. Martin County sheriff's spokeswoman Sgt. Jenell Atlas said the firecracker was not illegal and there was no evidence of malice against the dog. "They're not going to file charges because we don't believe there was any intent," Atlas said. "It was just one of those sad, we told you (so) ... with fireworks. This is what can happen." She said the incident was deemed an accident.

With all respect I am not buying the cop-out of the Sgt. !
I am sure the Humane Society will enlighten her of a list of charges that could have been filed .

When are people going to learn that a family pet is a family member and thus charges equivilent to the same happening to a human should apply. If someone did that to my dog, woe behold my anger and the how far I would go in grief.
A volley of punches would be dished out for starters and then a fire cracker shoved up the dark ororfice.

I agree with Nulle. There is no way a legal firecracker would blow up a dog That is just sad.

Over the years a ihave always heard keep you dogs in the house when lighting fire works. this is prob. one of the reasons. you know the dog owner should prob. be partilly responsible for the situation. the dog should have been inside, regardless the firework bein' legal or not.
